What makes you keep a book?
I'm not a book-keeper. I have very few on my shelf (lots on my ebook reader, but that's a different story, that's inertia that keeps me from cleaning up my file space).
I had to go to my bookcase the other day to read a few back-cover blurbs (I know, I know -- I'm the Queen of the Blurb -- but I'd never blurbed this book, and I had to do one, and ...)
The few books I've kept are now out of print and falling apart. As I looked through these old friends, I realized what made me keep them and return to them, dusty though they may be, time and again.
So what's your criteria for a Keeper?
