One word of advice for aspiring authors

What one word would you tell aspiring authors?

Would it be write, type, word, research, publish?

Would it be soar, dream, believe?

Or maybe something silly like plunk-it, leap-frog, or find-a-mentor?

Each writer comes to his/her craft with a unique set of experiences and education. Each may need a different nudge. I can only speak for myself. If I needed advice ten years ago or now, the best advice for me is: do-it.

Persevere."To persist in spite of difficulties." That says it all for me. Interesting topic. Celia

"Read" would be the one word I'd offer to any aspiring author seeking advice. Read for research, to learn what both good and bad writing are, to get ideas and learn technique. Thoughtful post, Maggie.
